How does Scopt connect to my CPMS?
The Scopt cloud connects to your CPMS through an API. Your CPMS keeps talking to the charger over OCPP, and Scopt reads the home's meter data through a smart dongle in the digital meter.
What hardware is needed in the home?
A smart dongle that plugs into the digital meter and connects over Ethernet or Wi-Fi. No extra hardware goes on the wall next to the charger.
Can drivers install the dongle themselves?
Yes. The dongle is plug and play and the installer app guides the driver or the installer through one flow, with diagnostics built in. The flow is the same for every charger brand.
Can existing chargers be upgraded remotely?
Yes. As long as the charger is connected to your back office, you can upgrade it to smart charging without a site visit.
Which charging modes are available?
Solar, autopilot, dynamic tariff, peak and grid balancing. The driver sets a departure time and the algorithm handles the rest.
Can I build my own app on the Scopt API?
Yes. Everything in Install, Manage and Drive is available through the API, from fleet dashboards and driver apps to insights and the install process.
What happens if a charger brand stops support?
The smart charging logic runs in the Scopt cloud, not in the charger, and works with any OCPP-compliant charger. You are not tied to one charger brand.
What is the difference between an installer EMS and a service EMS?
An installer EMS is sold as hardware with local configuration in every home, so operating costs grow with every install. A service EMS is a light cloud layer on the charger, sold as SaaS, with one remote process for every charger brand. Scopt builds a service EMS for CPOs.
